About the Series
In this series of articles by Tristan Roberts and Chuck Collins, Resilient Neighbors offers a look at their experiments in place-based resilience, aiming to share ideas, inspiration, and practical tips for those interested in replicating and adapting similar efforts in their localities. This series of articles starts in Guilford, but branches out with perspectives from other communities across the U.S.

About the Authors
Tristan Roberts is a father, farmer, writer, musician, and artist. Since 2009, he and his family have welcomed visitors to Quill Nook Farm, which they own and operate. Chuck Collins is a campaigner, researcher and storyteller at the Institute for Policy Studies, where he co-edits Inequality.org. He is the author of the eco-fiction novel, Altar to an Erupting Sun and Burned By Billionaires: How Concentrated Wealth and Power are Ruining Our Lives and Planet (The New Press, October 2025).
