From Learning to Doing: Cliff Scholz on Reskilling

When Cliff Scholz came to recognize that there were widespread problems with the way people exploit and abuse nature, especially in the realm of soil care and food production, he decided to make some changes in his life. He became a writer (including contributions to Resilience.org), communications consultant, advocate for local food and regenerative agriculture, and originator of the Green Hand Reskilling concept.

In this interview with PCI Program Director Rob Dietz, Cliff explains how he went from learning things to doing things in his community. Along the way, he describes successes and failures in his activist forays and offers lessons learned about overcoming inertia and stepping outside of his comfort zone. Cliff’s insights about taking responsibility and doing what’s right provide inspiration for anyone interested in addressing the unsustainable food system, the climate emergency, or other crises of our times.
