You may noticed that we have made some subtle changes to the site. The main one is the addition of a toolbar along the bottom which connects through to EB’s new Facebook fan page. We have decided to experiment with using Facebook for a couple of reasons. One is, to make the information on EB available to a new audience who use the internet in a different way from when EB was first set up. The second is to give EB readers somewhere to comment, and also to make connections with each other. In our survey at the beginning of the year we received feedback that some people would like to be able to connect with other EB readers either in their area or beyond – this should make this possible.
By using a toolbar we have avoided adding clutter to the pages of EB as we know that many readers appreciate the clean look of the site. It is possible to minimize the toolbar by clicking the down arrow on the right-hand side of it.
We trust that readers will use the comments space on Facebook responsibly and that it will provide a useful forum. We do not have the capacity to check or respond to each comment, so if you notice something really offensive, please let us know so that we can remove it.
