Ooo… also, look at the Arctic this week – this only shows regions of 90+% ice. Everything else is, basically, chunky slush. Eskimos now use boats. I wonder what Peter Wadhams would have to say about this?

This likely scares the crap outta you (like it does me). My reaction has been to build community as fast as I can. That is, my network of "ally" peeps.
This is both deeply promising and brilliantly produced. The story line and synesthetic audio are amazing. A little bit detracting. I aam more than a little anxious that the verbal content won’t be on par with the powerful perceptual packaging. Rather than just a message, however deep and coherent it may be, I ask is it exactly the message that we need right now? On account of this being a serious crisis. If so, how do you know?

True humans who thought like us probably only happened about 70,000 years ago, but that's still 65,000 years before the Ag revolution. Evidently before Ag there was the population of the continents and wiping out most megafauna (except in Africa). So we did a lot. Just not civilization.
