Raven is a researcher in New Zealand and carried out her masters and Phd research on community level response and recovery to the Christchurch earthquakes. In addition to her work in Christchurch, her research expertise is in community resilience and the politics of grassroots responses to environmental and social issues.

We can, and should, theorise the broader politics of disaster. However, everyday stories of post-disaster action and resistance shed light on the small-scale, experimental grassroots interventions that bring forward hope in the midst of crisis.
