I have been a project scientist in the Climate Change Research section of the Climate and Global Dynamics laboratory at NCAR since October 2013. I hold a Ph.D. in Statistics from Duke University, and I came to NCAR as a postdoc in 1997. I was then a project scientist until 2007. From 2008 to 2013 I worked as a research scientist for Climate Central, a research and communication organization.

Globally, the frequency and intensity of heatwaves are generally rising due to climate change. However, we do not yet see a clear upward trend in extreme temperatures in India.
