“We are apt to close our eyes against a painful truth.” — Patrick Henry

Don’t believe everything you read in a book. That’s what Michael Ruppert, author of Crossing the Rubicon advises in the opening of his massive work. Judge the evidence for yourself. Don’t let someone else do your thinking for you.

As one who has been an intense researcher for over 14 years, I have a house full of book cases crammed with books, some good, many outstanding, some worthless, a few magnificent works. Crossing the Rubicon falls into the category of compelling, unable to put down, frightening. An amazing set of facts woven by a former LAPD narcotics investigator who produced concrete evidence back in the late 70s of the CIA’s massive drug smuggling, flooding America’s streets with cocaine.

In Crossing the Rubicon you will read an excruciatingly detailed account of how Wall Street (yes, the biggest banks) are knowingly laundering a trillion dollars a year in dirty drug money for the CIA. Since the mid-70s to date, Congress has turned a blind eye while feeding the American people dung about “the war on drugs,” while allowing the CIA to flood this country with them. It is beyond an outrage, it’s outright criminal and no one in the U.S. government seems to care – especially Congress whose responsibility it is to rein in this kind of flagrant lawlessness.

Crossing the Rubicon isn’t just about the terror attacks that day. Ruppert masterfully presents the genesis of September 11th and moves the reader through the early years regarding high expectations for massive oil sources, exposing what’s known as “peak oil” production and into the future. Most Americans are oblivious to what oil really means to the world. They only equate “Bush went to Iraq for oil” as it relates to an increase at the pump. They are woefully ignorant about oil, why it’s called “black gold” and why the industrial world can’t live without it. Many wonder why the White House fought all the way to the Supreme Court to keep Dick Cheney’s energy policy meetings secret from the American people. That truth is revealed in stark clarity in Crossing the Rubicon.

Millions of Americans no longer believe the official story line sold to the American people about September 11th. I have authored several pieces myself (see index at: www.newswithviews.com/Devvy/kiddA.htm) My last word on the issue of whether a commercial airliner hit the Pentagon is simply, John Ashcroft: release all the surveillance film from the Pentagon gas station, the nearby Sheraton, VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation) and any other film being held by DOJ. To date Ashcroft refuses to release these videos and the only inference one can draw is cover-up.

Crossing the Rubicon moves from the drug dealing by the CIA, the money laundering on Wall Street to insider trading, who benefited from September 11th and then on to what Ruppert calls the “Holy Grail of 9-11.” This ‘Holy Grail’ is about the war games that were being run simultaneously by NORAD as events unfolded, who was in charge of the entire operation and what it meant on that day. Americans will be horrified when they find out just what really was going on, how those “live-fly” exercises affected the out come and who was running the show. Ruppert painstakingly walks the reader through these war games exercises and how it was deliberately engineered to hide certain things happening that day. This narrative will fully answer people’s questions about why our military didn’t respond until it was too late. The facts will shock you.

Our military were used in the most reprehensible manner that day and when the participants of those exercises start to put the pieces of the puzzle together from the chain of events in this book, I believe there will be tremendous anger. A massive lawsuit stemming from September 11th has been brought by Stanley Hilton, a lawyer in the SF Bay Area against George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, George Tenet, Robert Mueller, Condi Rice, John Ashcroft. Hilton was a senior advisor to Senator Bob Dole (R) and has personally known Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz for decades.

Hilton’s offices have been broken into, but that isn’t deterring him from going forward. These types of lawsuits are extremely dangerous for defendants because of what’s called discovery and forced production of documents. That’s one of the reasons no one has been brought to trial here in the United States for acts committed on September 11th – the danger of having to produce damning documents under discovery. Several cases against terrorists who probably did have something to do with the attacks, have been cut loose by other governments because the U.S. government has refused to cooperate. There is a growing stench here that can’t be ignored.

Millions of Americans have been voraciously reading what they can find on the net about September 11th, but I will state unequivocally that Crossing the Rubicon is as precision a presentation any top notch prosecutor in this country could present to a grand jury. This book is 675 pages long with 900 footnotes to back up every allegation and quote in it. For those who think they have put together all the pieces about September 11th, I must respectfully disagree. The full truth is yet to be told, but this book is the single vehicle that I see blowing this whole thing wide open. While I have spent a great deal of time researching September 11th, Crossing the Rubicon forcefully demonstrated to me just how deep and rancid the entire operation was, exposed more of the major the players, who funded who and why Bush really went to Afghanistan and then Iraq.

It is predictable that high paid spin meisters like Shawn Hannity and Bill O’Reilly will poo-poo this fully documented work. One reason that comes to the forefront is Ruppert’s association with former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney who is poised to win reelection next month. I have never been a fan of Ms. McKinney, however, September 11th isn’t about how she voted on some pork for her district while in office. This is about the pursuit of bringing those accountable to justice. Having watched and listened to these “premier” mouthpieces, in my humble opinion, Hannity, O’Reilly and their ilk have no credibility left given their constant and often shrill defense of Bush’s invasion of Iraq to remove Hussein and collect his phantom WMDs. It doesn’t wash and once Americans read the evidence presented in this book, Bush apologists will lose whatever credibility they may have enjoyed in the past.

For those who will immediately cry the release of this book so close to the pretend elections is just a ploy by Democrats, nothing could be further from the truth. An investigative journalist is ready to publish when they feel they have accumulated the facts needed to present their case. The mere thought of Kerry becoming President of this Republic makes me ill. Nothing could be more harmful for this nation than to put these two John’s (Kerry & Edwards) in higher office. Kerry adheres to Marxist ideology and Edwards, in addition to being just plain smarmy, hasn’t had an original thought pass between his ears in decades. However, the electronic ballot machines will make the next selection for the power brokers who control America’s politics and our very lives, so whatever they decide after the battles that are sure to come over vote fraud, is what we’ll get.

Back in December of 2001, I began writing about the mysterious and violent deaths of a number of the world’s top microbiologists which turned into hundreds of pages of text. I also obtained the official Memphis PD report and autopsy of Dr. Don C. Wiley (contained on my CD). There’s no question that Dr. Wiley was murdered; it was ruled an accident. The chances of so many of these individuals, tops in their fields, all dying within weeks of each other, all following the anthrax attacks – are simply astronomical. I always knew there was some sort of connection to 9-11. On page 518 of Crossing the Rubicon, I believe Ruppert hits on the most likely reasons behind all these murders. There most certainly is a connection to the attacks and the future use of black ops bioresearch.

The book has many documents reproduced in it to further bolster Ruppert’s presentation. Every adult age American should read this book no matter how many ball games, Halloween parties or good times they have to give up to read it. Every law enforcement officer, every veteran, every active duty military individual, every state legislator, mayor, every family member of someone who perished on September 11th, every survivor, every person who works for FEMA, does business with Brown and Root or banks like Citicorp – this book is a mandatory read.

What should happen as a result of the information presented in this book? At the very least a number of things should happen. Constitutional scholars like Jonathan Turley should get together with their colleagues, along with some of the finest constitutional attorneys in this country, analyze all the documentation in this book and put out a “blue ribbon commission” report. A federal grand jury should haul Dick Cheney in for questioning and, of course, then comes the question, “What did Bush know and when did he know it?”

A very hard look by a grand jury also needs to be directed at Admiral Steven Abbot, Jerome Hauer, Rick Inderfurth, Dave Frasca, Rudolph Giuliani, General Richard Myers and Ralph Eberhart. For those who go ballistic upon reading these names, until you read this fully documented book, I submit that you don’t have a clue as to what really happened that day. September 11th was mass murder and those responsible are still sitting in seats of power. This is about as serious as it gets. This nation went to war over September 11th. We must get to the truth no matter whose heads roll. The people must demand answers through vehicles like a grand jury.

For those who scoff at such a statement, I challenge you to read Crossing the Rubicon and once you’ve finished vomiting out of fear and knowing you have been betrayed, then come back and tell me I’m wrong. Throughout my life I have been a book worm, I literally have lost count of the thousands of books I have read over my life time. Very few have cost me sleepless nights. This one has and more.

Those who choose to ignore this book and the succinct, raw presentation by Ruppert are those who are afraid to face what might be the truth. They cannot and will not face real evil square in the eye, it’s too painful. When a person is too afraid or too dedicated to a political party to make an honest journey in pursuit of the truth and nothing but the truth, it is a pathetic state of being. If after reading this book you decide it’s nothing but a “right wing conspiracy” or that all the facts brought forth and backed up by sources means nothing, then at least you will have squared things in your own mind and can on about your business.

For those who knee jerk and willfully ignore the truth, you give safe haven to the perpetrators – even when they are your own government. By ignoring the truth, you trash the sacrifices made by thousands of wonderful, decent Americans on September 11th and for many months afterwards, including our freedom fighters in service. It will be a travesty if the people of this country, because of blind loyalty to a political party, sit back and allow the lies regarding September 11th to continue.

While every major “mainstream” TV anchor, every major cable network news, all the major talk show gasbags and all the major newspapers in this country will shun this book and attack it’s author, I say read the book, read all the foot notes and make up your own mind. You be the jury and while you’re at it, you might give some thought as to what you will do down the road when gasoline hits $10.00 a gallon. It’s coming and it will happen in our lifetime. Peak oil and what it means for the world is out of the bag, it can no longer be hidden. Once you read Crossing the Rubicon, you’ll know what this means for all of us. It isn’t pretty.
