Posting at Energy Bulletin will be light over the next week.
Co-editor Simone will be holding down the fort while I’m at a 40-year high school reunion and hiking with step-children.
Change in Direction
We are becoming more selective in the articles we’re re-posting in the collections of headlines (for example, “Peak Oil – July 25”). We’ll still be running the headlines but less frequently.
The mainstream media are doing a much better job than they were four years ago when Energy Bulletin began. Media coverage of peak oil and sustainability has exploded. Trying to keep up is like drinking out of a fire hydrant.
There is no longer the urgent need for us to monitor coverage of energy issues. Several other sites have taken up the task. For example:
- At The Oil Drum Leanan posts a daily list of articles under “DrumBeat”.
- Gristmill covers energy from a U.S. environmentalist perspective.
- Tom Whipple and ASPO-USA have kindly given us permission to re-post their news summaries, as has ODAC in the UK.
In the future we will be putting most of our efforts into full-length articles, both original and re-posted from other sites.
Thanks to readers, contributors and Post Carbon Institute for your support! You make it all worthwhile.
