August 9, 2005

‘Fuelling the Future – the challenge and opportunity of Peak Oil’ was a two day conference held in Kinsale over the weekend of June 18th-19th 2005. The conference addressed not only the issue of peak oil but also a range of solutions to it, from natural building and local food production to renewable energy and local economics. The weekend was a huge success and has done much to promote discussion around the issue of peak oil in Ireland. Speakers included Richard Heinberg, Colin Campbell, David Holmgren and Richard Douthwaite. Fuelling the Future has just released a 2-disc DVD set of the conference featuring all the main speakers. Beautifully packaged and professionally edited, this is an excellent record of the event, and an inspirational tool for anyone with an interest in peak oil and creative strategies for adapting to it. The cost of the DVD set is €15 plus p&p. To order copies (credit card payment can be taken) please contact Fergal Mohan at fergal@mohandigital.com.
