Peak Oil Planning – A Graphic Essay

May 24, 2005

As an architect/engineer and student of all things sustainable I am at once fascinated and terrified by the implication of peak oil. The sheer scope of the problem, its social and technical complexity, and its growing urgency have compelled me to coalesce a set of ideas in graphic form to push the dialogue.

The resulting PowerPoint presentation has been less of a presentation aid and more of a tool for framing and honing ideas. The presentation is available for download in PPS or PPT format (~4.5mb) here:

NEWS FLASH! (May 25)

I’ve converted the presentation to Flash and posted it to the website at:

The file is ‘peaking presentation(flash).swf’

This file is a tad chubby at 22mb, but should be readable by most computers.
