Climate Change is Coming to Town—bicycle version

Climate Change is Coming to Town—bicycle version
(To the tune of Santa Claus is Coming to Town)
By the Toronto Raging Grannies

You better watch out, you better not drive.
You better ride bikes I’m telling you why.
Climate change is coming to town.

We’re making it hot, we’re raising the seas.
Gonna feel life at a hundred degrees.
Climate change is coming to town.

If people keep on driving.
The poles will soon be lakes.
The air will stink like petrol fumes.
Ride your bike for goodness sake.

We’re making a list, we’re checking it twice.
We’re gonna find out who drives and who bikes!
Climate change is coming to town.

From Jan Lundberg at Culture Change:
This came to Culture Change from Angela Bischoff who produces Greenspiration News (http://www.greenspiration.org), an emailed compendium of environmental news. Her late husband Tooker Gomberg burned his Canadian passport at a prior Climate Conference. He later committed suicide thanks to the side effects of a questionable antidepressant drug, Remeron.

Tiny Tim Movingly Predicts Climate Change in 1967

Rob Hopkins, Transition Culture

My friend Asha just sent me this. Utterly bonkers, yet oddly (and I mean odd) prescient. History does not record the lasting impact that this performance had on the children. It is, however, a moving anthem for the Copenhagen talks, and one you can sing along to. Altogether now… “the icecaps are melting…”. Beat that, Al Gore.

Reorienting Environmentalism

Frank Rotering,
Environmentalism has the potential to kick-start the economic revolution that will reverse overshoot. This video proposes a new mode of activism, called conscious environmentalism, to achieve this goal.
