Joëlle Gergis is an award-winning climate scientist and writer at the Australian National University and author of the critically-acclaimed book Sunburnt Country: The Future and History of Climate Change in Australia (Melbourne University Press). She has authored 97 publications, her general audience pieces appearing in The Monthly, The Guardian, The Saturday Paper, The Griffith Review, Harper’s Bazaar and The Conversation. Joëlle was a lead author on the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report and is also an advisor to the Climate Council, Australia’s leading independent body providing expert advice to the public on climate change and policy.
