Crises and large scale challenges create fear in many but inspire others to act. What gives relocalization greater value than many other responses is its broader benefit to society, especially to local farmers, producers, community enterprise and businesses.
Perhaps those who are giving their good names to Branson’s contest believe that we need a miracle technology to save us from the worst of global warming. But the kind of miracle we need most is one that will change the attitude of people worldwide about what each of them needs to do to prevent global warming from destroying the very civilization that has given us so much faith in technology.
I honestly admire and commend Shell CEO John D. Hofmeister for going around to discuss the energy predicament of the U.S. and the world. But what is with the Peak Oil denial by Shell?
