If the dollar collapses who knows what that will do to commodities? Could commodity markets be created in other currencies? Yes, but these markets will be regional markets, not global ones.

Where will oil trade: New York? London? Tehran?
There may come a time when geologically driven oil shortages dry up liquidity in the oil markets and when politically driven resource competition creates shortages.
