Ugo Mattei

Is a professor of the University of Turin, and an Alfred and Hannah Fromm distinguished Professor of International and Comparative Law at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He has authored over 100 publications, and is a member of the Acedemia Internazionale Diritto Comparato. He is Editor in Cheif of the Global Jurist, a member of the Board of American Journal of Comparative Law, and of the International Review of Law and Economics. He is currently leading a study on Commons for the Common Core of European Private Law, and is one of the key figures in the Italian Commons movement in relation to the 2011 Italian referendum on water, hi-speed rail, and the occupation and transformation of theatres into commons. He is the current President of ABC Napoli, the first public, common management of water in a large city.
